1
Horse Silk Tanganyika
Heavy-ground hurdle winner; switch to chasing yielded two 3m wins and he ended last term with a tenacious second over 4m2f in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter (6lb higher today); went a bit freely at Cheltenham on return three weeks ago and shaped as if in need of the race; type to resume improvement.
J: Charlie Deutsch
T: Venetia Williams
7 9/2
2
Horse Silk O'Connell
Final leg of his hat-trick (3m-3m4f) last winter came on heavy ground at this track, before his remote second in the 4m1f Eider at Newcastle; encouraging third at Carlisle five weeks ago should set him up for a big run.
J: Gavin Sheehan
T: Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith
9 11/4
3
Horse Silk Ask Brewster
Ran poorly last winter but emerged in the spring to win at Chepstow and Cheltenham (3m4f) before completing his hat-trick with another Chepstow win in October; all three of those were on good or good to firm but he did score on soft as a hurdler in March 2024; raised another 8lb but has more improvement in him if the ground is okay.
J: Harry Cobden
T: Evan Williams
6 4/1
4
Horse Silk Hung Jury
5-21 in points and now two big days under rules at Cheltenham, winning a 4m hunter chase (good) in May and 16-runner handicap over 3m1f (heavy) three weeks ago; up 6lb but this step back up in trip can help him make further progress.
J: Sean Bowen
T: Martin Keighley
10 11/1
5
Horse Silk Invincible Nao
Last winter's wins on soft ground at Plumpton came with waiting tactics over 3m1f and 3m4f, latterly in the Sussex National; showed his wellbeing to win a three-runner race from the front here four weeks ago over just 2m4f, so it's reasonable to hope for more improvement over further than that for stable which had a fine day here yesterday.
J: Caoilin Quinn
T: Gary & Josh Moore
7 6/1
6
Horse Silk Jupiter Allen
Not proven beyond 3m and his only attempt at a marathon trip produced a remote finish over 3m6f at the Cheltenham Festival (25-1) on final start last term; won twice in that first campaign over fences, at this track on first occasion, and his stable is in good form, but he failed to join in when a soundly beaten co-favourite here four weeks ago; a few questions.
J: Rex Dingle
T: Chester Williams
6 14/1
7
Horse Silk Rivers Corner
J: Brendan Powell
T: Joe Tizzard
7 4/1
