Took keen hold - raced wide - prominent - niggled along and lost position gradually from 2f out (inquiry was held into ride; rider was interviewed and shown recordings of race; jockey said his instructions were to drop filly in to get her relaxed and to find her way through the race - with the hope that filly would keep finding all the way to line; he added that she jumped better from stalls than anticipated causing filly to be left on the outside without cover - which resulted in her racing very freely for the first 1 1/2f; as a result he felt that filly had nothing left in final 2f - having become very tired due to over racing early on and - although close to the leaders - there was nothing more that he could do to obtain a better position and he felt that resorting to whip would not have been beneficial; jockey also said that having talked to trainer after race - he believed that filly could potentially be suited to a drop back in trip to 5f; vet said that a post race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities; stewards noted the rider's explanation)(op 80/1)
