In rear - shaken up over 1f out - hung left when tenderly handled inside final furlong - never near to challenge (stewards inquired intorunning and riding; rider and trainer's rep were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; vet said that a post-race examination of gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities; jockey said instructions were to bounce colt out - obtain cover and ride his race from there; he said that after jumping well - he was able to travel nicely in behind runners and had asked colt to lengthen and quicken up from approaching 2f out; however inside the final 2f colt had then hung markedly left-handed (a fact he reported at scales) which restricted his ability to put him under a greater degree of pressure; he added that he elected not to pull his whip through to the left-hand in order to assist correcting colt as he was concerned that relieving the maximum pressure he had applied to the right rein - would enable him to move sharply left-handed and potentially cause interference to other runners; trainer's rep confirmed the instructions and that ride accorded with instructions given; the stewards noted their explanations)(op 25/1 tchd 28/1)
