Dwelt start - towards rear throughout (jockey said - regarding running and riding - that his instructions were to jump out and sit midfield and obtain plenty of cover; however - in his opinion he was unable to carry out these instructions fully as having been one of the first horses to enter stalls gelding had became a little restless and did not jump as sharply as would be required in order to obtain his ideal position; rider added that gelding raced on and off the bridle throughout the race and that turning into the straight he felt that he needed to allow gelding to get into his stride while asking him forward before asking for maximum effort; he further stated that he opted to take gelding off stands side rail in final 110yds to ensure that gelding remained interested and moving forwards to obtain best possible position - as he felt had he continued into gap available to him up stands side rail that gelding would have lost concentration and consequently not finish the race off to the best of his ability; trainer confirmed instructions and stated that rider knows the horse well having ridden him in all three of his previous starts - a fact the rider agreed with; their explanations were noted)(tchd 28/1)
