Newcastle win in January shows he's still capable of smart performances but three lesser runs have followed (all AW; behind some of these latest); last turf win was in 2023 so others arrive with more pressing claims.

7f course winner on good to firm last summer and has done little but progress since, winning over 1m at Southwell on New Year's Day; excellent second of 14 at Newcastle (1m again) since, with reopposing Flight Plan and Apiarist in behind; should continue the good work back on turf; top of the list.

Three fine efforts on AW to start the year but his run of good form came to a halt when well behind Blue Rc at Newcastle over Easter; acts on turf but has a much better strike-rate on AW; drawn widest.

Won a Nottingham maiden (1m, good) and a Yarmouth handicap (1m1f, soft) last year; respectable sixth (Mirsky third) of 12 in 1m1f Musselburgh handicap on reappearance three weeks ago; wandered around a little under pressure there and now refitted with the cheekpieces he wore once last season; could resume his progression and much respected from a handy inside stall.

Failed to build on a decent fourth at Lingfield (1m2f) in February when behind Blue Rc at Newcastle (1m) on Good Friday but the fact he made all in this race off 8lb lower last year means a revival can't be discounted, particularly as he's well drawn to attack again; tongue-tied first time.

Last year's Golden Mile win at Goodwood (strong record there) shows he's still smart on his day; respectable return to action when fifth in good conditions race over 7f here three weeks ago but he's gained the vast majority of his ten career wins on slower ground than he's likely to encounter this afternoon.

Hit a hot spell at the beginning of last summer, winning over C&D (good to firm) before following up at the Epsom Derby meeting (8.5f, good to soft); creditable third (Sea Force sixth) of 12 on Musselburgh reappearance (1m1f, good) three weeks ago; likely to be competitive again.

Has looked quirky on occasions but he produced a decidedly useful effort when coming with a strong run to get up late in 8.6f Wolverhampton handicap in November; matched that form when a close third there on reappearance six weeks ago; won a fast-ground novice on turf last year (also second here on debut); one of two solid contenders for James Tate.

Pair of 1m wins on good ground in Ireland last summer, namely a Naas maiden (wore cheekpieces) and Curragh handicap (visored); low-mileage new recruit for Declan Carroll but he'll need to leave last month's Newmarket reappearance with a tongue-tie added (retained) well behind to play a leading role here.

Last four wins at Musselburgh, including two last month, latterly producing a career-best performance to see off ten rivals over 1m on good; also went close at this course last year; a further 4lb rise demands even more but can't rule out in her current mood.

Just second outing for Geoff Harker when runner-up off 1lb higher at Haydock (1m, good) last May but never involved when dropped to 7f at York the following month and not seen since (gelded); this is a tough race to return in.

Off the mark in a Windsor novice (1m, good) last June; far from disgraced despite only beating one home when fifth on his handicap debut at Ascot (good to firm) last July and perhaps unsuited by soft ground when well held there in September; sold for 23,000gns in November and gelded ahead of this return for a new stable; drawn wide and probably best watched this time.

Low-mileage 4yo who was having only his second start for this yard when clinging on over the extended 7f at Beverley (good to firm) nine days ago; only raised 3lb but this is a step up from that Class 4 and his draw isn't ideal for one who usually races close to the pace.

Sprung a 66-1 surprise in this on good to firm in 2022 (also fourth in 2024); added career win number 17, as an 11yo, at Ayr (1m, good to soft) last September but arrives with something to prove after finishing tailed off behind a couple of these on his Musselburgh reappearance.
